grinderman è l'album scaturito dalle registrazioni di nick cave ei fidi collaboratori con cui si è (ultimamente) solito attorniare (The Artist Solely Attorney With): Warren Ellis, Jim Sclavunos et Martyn Casey. da cui anche per estensione il nome della probabilmente provvisoria bénd. epperciò NON è il nuovo nick cave and the bad seeds. piuttosto, è il parto di un nick cave che si alza dal piano, smette i panni del cantore dell'amore maledetto e impossibile et straziante e torna a infilarsi nel maledetto labirinto della natura malvagia dell'uomo. l'oscurità strisciante, il pathos terrificante e affascinante del lato oscuro dell'esistenza. il confine tra giusto e sbagliato non esiste: nico indugia tra apocalisse e redenzione. due baffoni indossati con la nonchalance che forse nessun altro possiedese, è qui l'ispirazione e l'immediatezza solo apparentemente persa, sovrastata dai sentimenti e dall'afflizione dei due ultimi lustri. i birthday party fossero vivi nel 2007 suonerebbero così. tutto scorre MA tutto è ciclico. 4
